Corkery Elementary's population is 70 percent Latino, and 30 percent African American, with 32 percent enrolled in a transitional bilingual program. The school has adopted the AVID program to raise awareness and preparation for higher education. Corkery partners with Communities in Schools, Sears Retired Volunteers, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, MAP Art Program, and IMC Chicago to provide resources for our students.

2012 School Newsletter
Corkery School continues to post improvement on the ISAT test scores every year. Together with our parents we strive to instill in our students a sense of community and goals for higher education. We offer a variety of after school activities sponsored by an increasing number of committed teachers educating students with a holistic approach.

Morning supervision is limited therefore; students are expected to arrive no earlier than 8:15 a.m. Breakfast is provided in the classroom at 8:30 a.m.

Kindergarten P.M. 11:45-2:15 lunch 11:25-11:45Pre-K a.m.- 8:30a.m.-11:30 a.m.
